2:18 p.m. Thursday — Michael Kellerman, 26, of Franklin Township was arrested on drug-related charges following a traffic stop at East Pearl and North Monroe streets. Police said asearch found Kellerman with two rocks of suspected crack cocaine and a syringe.He is charged with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, and not stopping at a red flashing signal.
7:55 p.m. Sunday — David Cousins, 51, was arrested for allegedly assaulting his wife, Kimberly Jo Cousins, 43, during a domestic dispute at the couple's Queens Junction Road home in Clay Township. He is charged with simple assault. Police said Kimberly Jo Cousins suffered a minor injury.6:26 p.m. Sunday — Acar driven by James Garard, 54, of Pittsburgh struck the rear of another car on Interstate 79 in Muddy Creek Township. Garard was cited for careless driving. Jo Ann Kesslar, 51, of Greenville, Mercer County, was driving the car rear-ended in the crash.12:52 p.m. Sunday — Cars driven by Stephanie Schriver, 19, of Beaver Falls, Beaver County, and Jacob Cook, 20, of Lake City, Erie County, collided on I-79 in Lancaster Township. Schriver was cited for following too closely to another vehicle; Cook was cited for driving with an expired license.12:40 p.m. Sunday — Acar driven by Tanya Fox, 18, of Beaver Falls and a pickup truck driven by William Fleske, 26, of Pittsburgh collided on I-79 in Worth Township.3:15 a.m. Sunday — Police are seeking the driver of a 1992 Ford F-150 pickup that crashed into a tree at Mahood Road and Route 308 in Clay Township. The unknown driver drove off after the crash but the truck, damaged in the crash, broke down on Main Street in West Sunbury.Police said the driver left the vehicle in the northbound lane and ran off. The pickup bears the Pennsylvania license plate YLL-6549. Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call the barracks at 724-284-8100.12:30 a.m. Sunday — Brent Bell, 29, of Chicora was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence following a four-vehicle crash on Route 8 in Chicora.Police said the crash occurred when Bell's pickup truck pulled from a parking lot and collided with a car driven by Shannon Sasse, 20, of Butler. Bell's pickup then struck a parked sport utility vehicle and Sasse's car was forced into another parked SUV.Sasse and Jeff Biondo, 20, no address driven, a passenger in the car, suffered minor injuries; both were wearing seat belts. Police said that Bell, in addition to DUI, is charged with undisclosed traffic violations.Sunday — Two Pepsi machines were broken into in separate weekend thefts in Butler County. Police did not indicate if the thefts could be connected.Investigators said an unknown thief between 9:15 p.m. Friday and 6:15 a.m. Saturday was able to grind off the lock of the machine at the Trader Horn on Route 422 in Franklin Township. The change box filled with an unknown amount of money was taken.In the other theft, about $40 was taken from the Pepsi machine on South Main Street in Harrisville. Penn Gold Ice Cream of Harrisville owns the stolen property.Sunday — Vandals damaged the windows of two vehicles in separate weekend incidents in Butler County.A beer bottle was used between 9 p.m. Saturday and 3:30 p.m. Sunday to crack the front window of one vehicle parked on Main Street in Connoquenessing; Timothy Sweeney of Connoquenessing owns the vehicle.In an earlier incident, someone between 9 p.m. Saturday and midnight Sunday smashed out the rear window of a car at Routes 268 and 68, in the Kepples Corners parking lot in Fairview Township.; Karen Trimbur of Chicora owns the car.9:30 p.m. Saturday — Ryan Dray, 21, of Butler was arrested for allegedly assaulting Christy Blackham, 46, of Butler during an argument at a Kriley Lane home in Jefferson Township. Dray is charged with simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct.9:15 p.m. Saturday — Patrick Wilson of Pulaski, Lawrence County, reported that his burgundy 1990 Ford Bronco was stolen from the Ghost Riders parking lot on Route 8 in Center Township.9 p.m. Saturday — A car driven by Randy Mills, 46, of New Castle and an SUV driven by Evan Billings, 17, of Grove City collided at Main and New Castle streets in Slippery Rock. A 15-year-old passenger in the car, wearing a seat belt, suffered minor injuries.5 p.m. Saturday — Matthew Dipner, 22, no known address, was arrested for simple assault after allegedly striking William John Smith, 26, of North Washington with a lit cigarette during an altercation at an Oneida Valley Road home in Washington Township.Police said Dipner was found wanted on an outstanding warrant; he was placed in the Butler County Prison on $15,000 bond.4:05 p.m. Saturday — A car driven by a 17-year-old Forest County boy struck the rear of another car stopped for traffic on Route 8 at R&W McDonald's furniture store in Center Township. The collision pushed the other car, driven by Barbara Blatt, 53, of Butler into the rear of an SUVdriven by Maxine Smathers, 55, of Butler.Police said the Tionesta boy, who they did not identify, faces a traffic citation for following too closely to another vehicle.3:15 p.m. Saturday — A mini-van driven by Amanda Morrison, 20, of Marco Island, Fla., struck the rear of a car on Route 68 in Connoquenessing Township. Morrison was cited for driving too fast for conditions. Neal McConnell, 28, of Butler was driving the car.2:38 a.m. Saturday — Justin Searle, 28, of Renfrew was arrested for DUI on Route 8 near Powell Road in Penn Township. Searle also faces charges for several traffic violations.Saturday — Two laptop computers and a DVD player were taken in a burglary at a South Main Street home in Slippery Rock. Drawers and closets in the house were also rummaged through, police said.The unknown burglar apparently broke into the home through a kitchen window. The burglary occurred between 5 p.m. Wednesday and 1 p.m. Saturday.5:05 p.m. Thursday — Amini-van driven by Christie Kunselman, 32, of Pittsburgh struck a deer on Route 422 near McGrady Road in Clearfield Township.1:45 p.m. Thursday — An undisclosed amount of building supplies was taken from a construction site on Woodhawk Drive in Franklin Township. E&EChestnut Developers of Butler owns the stolen property.Thursday — A Sony PlayStation 2 video game console, controllers and a game were taken in burglary at the Holyoke Road home of Connie Steighner in Center Township. The break-in occurred between 9 a.m. Nov. 20 and 5 p.m. Thursday.Nov. 17 — A Mongoose bicycle and leather coat were taken Nov. 16 or 17 from a car parked on Green Street in Chicora. Timothy Rodnicki of Apollo, Armstrong County, owns the stolen property.
7:30 p.m. Friday — A car driven by Tara Bowser, 29, of Parker hit two large rocks and caught fire on Route 478 in Richland Township, Clarion County. Bowser and two young children in the car were able to get out of the car without injury. Police cited Bowser for an undisclosed traffic violation.
Friday — Police said Timothy Allen Swank, 39, has been reported as a missing person after he left his house on Mountaineer Drive in North Buffalo Township, Armstrong County, and did not immediately return home. No other information about the case was available this morning.Anyone with information about Swank's whereabouts is asked to call the barracks at 724-543-2011.6:35 p.m. Thursday — Dennis Hogan, 62, of Butler swerved his car to avoid a deer lying on Route 422 near Ping Wing Hollow Road in Manor Township, Armstrong County, and hit a car parked on the side of the road. Markella Liberto of Apollo owns the car in the accident.
6:43 a.m. Sunday — A Virginia man was seriously injured when his car crashed and caught fire on Interstate 79 in Springfield Township, Mercer County.Police said Travis Benson, 43, of Alexandria was southbound when he lost control of his 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix, traveled more 300 feet off the road and hit several small trees. The car then slammed into a larger tree.Passing motorists stopped and pulled Benson from the car before the vehicle burned. Springfield Township firefighters were called and put out the fire.Benson was taken by ambulance to Grove City Medical Center, and then flown by medical helicopter to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh; his condition was not known this morning.6:45 p.m. Nov. 17 — Three boys allegedly assaulted another boy at the George Junior Republic juvenile detention facility in Pine Township, Mercer County. No other information about the investigation was available this morning.
