Hemphill 60th anniversary
Richard and Joan Hemphill of Chicora celebrated 60 years of marriage recently with a family dinner at Oakview Country Club.
The former Joan Collier married Hemphill July 20, 1946, at Mater Dolorosa Roman Catholic Church in Chicora.
They have three children, Richard Hemphill Jr. and Janie Turk, both of Chicora, and Denny Hemphill of Butler.
They also have 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Hemphill retired from the Witco Chemical Laboratory after 35 years. He belongs to the VFW and the American Legion. He is also a veteran, having served during World War II.Mrs. Hemphill is a homemaker. She belongs to the Young at Heart Club of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church in Bradys Bend.The couple belongs to Mater Dolorosa Roman Catholic Church.
