CRANBERRY TWP — The Friends of the Cranberry Public Library will have a used book sale April 11-14 at the library, 2525 Rochester Road.

Adult, teen, and children’s books will be for sale, as well as audiobooks and CDs.

Preview night, open to Library Friends, runs 5 to 7:30 p.m. April 11.

The sale is open to the public 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. April 12, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 13 and ends with a $5 bag sale 1 to 3:30 p.m. April 14.

[naviga:h3]Artists program open to veterans[/naviga:h3]

The Office of Public Art, working in collaboration with Rethink Vets and The Heinz Endowments, has released a Request for Qualifications for artists or artist teams to work with the Rethink Vets coalition as an artist-in-residence.

The two-year initiative, part of OPA’s artist in the public realm residency program, will result in a creative project developed in collaboration with veteran communities in Allegheny, Butler, and Westmoreland counties.

Rethink Vets, funded in part by The Heinz Endowments, is a coalition of organizations that serve veterans in Southwestern Pennsylvania.

MARS — The Mars Public Library, 107 Grand Ave., has the following upcoming events:

7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday Hoarding program. Presented by Marc and Rachel Cline, local owners of Steri-Clean Pittsburgh, this program takes a deeper look into hoarding. This is a free event. Sign up at the library or call 724-625-9048 to register.

Noon, April 13, Educational Bird Presentation. This free program is for all ages teaches about endangered species and bird intelligence. Meet talking, singing and dancing parrots and hold the new “in style” chickens.

BRADY TWP — Jennings Environmental Education Center, 2951 Prospect Road, will have a special open house from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday to show off newly installed exhibits.

Light hors d’oeuvres and a small commemorative item will be available at noon while supplies last.

The exhibits feature realistic representations of prairie planad and wildlife above and below the ground.

WORTHINGTON, Armstrong County — A black light puppet show will begin at 7 p.m. Sunday at the Civic Center, 218 E. Main St.

Sponsored by GracePointe Commuity Church, 916 Freeport Road, Freeport, the annual program has been enjoyed by young and old alike.

Free ice cream, cookies, coffee, tea and water will be provided.
