Butler Twp. Police11:37 p.m. July 6 — Josh Luchkiw, 26, of Butler was seriously injured when the motorcycle he was driving collided head-on with a car on Highland Avenue. Luchkiw was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital and later transferred by medical helicopter to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.Police said the motorcycle crossed the center line before hitting the car driven by Cathy Woller, 67, of Butler. The accident remains under investigation.

State Police, ButlerTuesday — A New York truck driver was arrested after he allegedly threatened to blow up the BASF Chemical plant on Mars-Evans City Road in Forward Township.The suspect, Miguel Angel Higuera, 49, of Pine Bush, drove a tanker truck to the facility about 9:30 a.m. and refused to comply with the initial processing instructions and attempted to get into a restricted area, according to a police report.Higuera apparently became angry when he was denied access and made the off-hand remark to blow up the plant.The defendant was arraigned on charges of terroristic threats and disorderly conduct, and placed in the Butler County Prison. He was released Wednesday after posting $2,500 bail.Tuesday — An unknown thief cut off and stole the exhaust systems including the catalytic converters from two 2013 GMC Sierra trucks at Baglier Mazda on Route 68 in Connoquenessing Township. The suspect also cut the exhaust on a 2012 Mazda 5 in an apparent attempted theft.The incident happened between June 25 and Tuesday. The stolen property and damage was estimated at $3,035.

State Police, MercerJune 28 — Two unknown shoplifters stole 27 pairs of sandals from the Gap store at Premium Outlets in Springfield Township. The suspects are described as a black male and a black female.
