PARKER TWP — Accused of an ambush beating that left another man hospitalized with serious facial injuries, an Armstrong County man is jailed on six-figure bail.

State police arrested Scott F. Walker, 42, of Kittanning on felony assault and other charges in the Sunday attack possibly motivated by jealousy, investigators said.

He is in Butler County Prison on $100,000 bail.

The 35-year-old victim was eventually taken to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, authorities said, with facial fractures and head injuries. His condition was not known Tuesday.

Police began investigating the case about 10 p.m. Sunday after the victim's mother called 911 to report her son was assaulted at his home on Annisville Road in Parker Township.

Troopers described seeing a bloody crime scene at the house, including a “large pool of blood” on the rear deck, according to court documents.

Nearby, police noticed blood splatter measuring about four feet on the side of the house close to a door.

Police spoke to the badly injured victim, documents said, who admitted that he had not seen his attacker. But he gave troopers the name of a suspect — Walker.

The victim told police that Walker had threatened him earlier that day. Walker had also allegedly made threats against the same man “a couple days” before by Facebook Messenger.

“(The victim) related he was dating (a woman),” according to a police affidavit, “who was the recent ex of Walker.”

Police contacted their colleagues at the Kittanning barracks, and troopers there went to Walker's home where they found his car.

The engine was still warm, documents said, and police noticed “wet blood” on the center console and dash near the ignition. Police impounded the vehicle.

Troopers on Monday interviewed Walker at the Kittanning station. Police said he admitted to assaulting the victim.

He said he tracked down the victim's home using Facebook, documents said. He went there and allegedly waited for the other man to return home.

“Walker physically assaulted (the victim) using his fists,” the affidavit said.

According to the defendant's account, after the attack he went home and took a shower. He told police that the clothes he was wearing that night were still at his home.

Additionally, police said, the defendant acknowledged he previously had used his cell phone to send Facebook messages to the victim.

District Judge Lewis Stoughton on Monday arraigned Walker on a felony charge of aggravated assault, a misdemeanor charge of simple assault and a summary charge of harassment.

His preliminary hearing is set for Tuesday at Stoughton's office in Chicora.
