Lisa and Stephen Shimko

Butler residents Lisa Fischer and Stephen Shimko were united in marriage at 4 p.m. April 29 at St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church in Butler Township. The Rev. James Murphy officiated. Areception followed at the Highfield Community Center.

The bride is the daughter of George and Betty Fischer of Butler. Parents of the bridegroom are James and Angela Shimko of Pittsburgh and Loretta Shimko of West Mifflin.

The honor attendant was Lara Stillings of Kannapolis, N.C. Maria Stirling of Butler was the bridesmaid.

Serving the bridegroom as best man was Drew Teed of West Mifflin. Ushers included Gary Stirling of Butler and Joseph Shimko of Manor.

The bride is a 1994 graduate of Butler High School and a 2001 graduate of LaRoche College.

The bridegroom graduated in 1991 from West Mifflin High School and in 1993 from Steel City Aviation. He works for the U.S. Postal Service in Warrendale.

Following a honeymoon trip to Jamaica, the couple is making their home in Butler.
