James LeRoy Snow
James LeRoy Snow, 68, of Willow Road, Karns City, passed away at 9:20 p.m. Sunday at his home following a lengthy illness.
He was born in Karns City, March 2, 1940, and he was a son of the late Earl Robert Snow and Esther Barbara Blystone Snow.
He was a Protestant, and he service in the U.S. Army from 1963 until 1969 in Korea and Germany. While in the Army, he received his GED.
He enjoyed camping, woodworking and puttering at odd jobs around the house.
He was a Copeland operator at the Indspec Chemical Co. in Petrolia for 22 years until his health failed in 1999.
He married the former Ruth Ann Judkins on April 27, 1984, in Chicora. She survives along with three stepdaughters, Kim D. Scott of Petrolia, Laura L. Switzer of Butler and Jacqueline A. "Jackie" Solada of Butler; a stepson, Paul L. Anthony Jr. and his wife, Beverly, of Karns City; 10 step-grandchildren; 13 step-great-grandchildren; a son, Ronald James Snow of Eau Claire; three daughters, DeRonda J. Appleman of East Brady, Charlotte Colwell of Sligo and Esther Marlene Claypool of Hilliards; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a brother, Franklin Snow and his wife, Helen, of Petrolia; a sister, Grace Dunlap of East Brady; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death along with his parents were one brother, Earl Thomas Snow, and one sister, Norma Jean Barger.
<B>SNOW</B> — Friends of James LeRoy Snow, who died Sunday, Dec. 28, 2008, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at the <B>Richard D. Hillis Funeral Home</B> in Petrolia. Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with Tammy Rottman, an ordained minister, officiating. Private interment will be in Bear Creek Cemetery, Petrolia.
