JEFFERSON TWP — The first week of fall each year has been designated National Fall Prevention Awareness Week.To observe the week, from 1 to 3 p.m. Sept. 23 Concordia Lutheran Ministries will conduct an afternoon of presentations and screenings free to the public.Marc Oster, internal medicine specialist at Butler Health System will discuss medications and polypharmacy; Jennifer Slanika will talk about medications that increase the risk of falls; CEO of Concordia Medical Equipment Brad Milliron will discuss assistive devices to improve safety; and Jen Lesnett will wrap up the presentation hour with “Preventing Falls in Your Home and Community.”Following the hour of presentations, mobility screenings will be conducted by Concordia physical therapists.For more information or to register, call 724-352-4535.
