Paul Simitoski
Paul Simitoski, 77, of Butler died early Monday morning at the Butler Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
He was born in Lyndora, April 2, 1931, a son of the late Michael and Lillian Sewanich Simitoski.
A graduate of Butler High School in 1956, he earned a bachelor's degree in chemistry at the University of Pittsburgh.
In 1993, he retired from the Penn Champ plant in East Butler, where he had been a chemist and plant manager, following 37 years employment.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in Korea during the Korean War. He was a member of VFW Post 249 in Butler and Post 778 of the American Legion in Lyndora.
He had been an active member of SS. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Lyndora, where he had also been a volunteer pirohi sales worker.
Paul was a former member of the board of directors for the Eastern Orthodox Foundation in Indiana, Pa.
An avid golfer, he had been a member of the former Armco Country Club. He enjoyed traveling, the beaches and spending winters in Florida.
Surviving are his wife, Grace A. Albert Simitoski, whom he married May 20, 1957; a son, Paul Robert Simitoski and his wife, Johnna, of Butler; a daughter, Felicia (Matthew) Kearns of Butler; a grandson, Ben Robert Simitoski; a brother, George Simitoski of Erie; and two sisters, Helen Lonchena and Ann Uram, both of Butler.
He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Linda, in 1968; three brothers, John, Sam and Mike Simitoski; and an infant sister.
<B>SIMITOSKI </B>— Friends of Paul Simitoski, who died Monday, Nov. 17, 2008, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the <B>Geibel Funeral Home</B>, 201 E. Cunningham St. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at SS. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 21 Evergreen Drive, Lyndora. The Rev. George Hnatko, of the Eastern Orthodox Foundation, and the Rev. Paisius McGrath, pastor, will officiate.
