Police: 113 bags of heroin seized

Andre Barrow
3 arrested after search of house

CENTER TWP — More than 100 stamp bags of heroin and other evidence of suspected drug dealing was seized Thursday from a township home, authorities said.

State police arrested three people after serving a search warrant at the house on Lyn Dale Drive.

Charged and in the Butler County Prison on $100,000 bail each are Andre C. Barrow, 24, of McKees Rocks, Allegheny County; Alexys M. Harris, 24, of Summit Township; and Charles J. Perkins, 24, of Butler.

Police said patrol troopers and county probation officers went to the home around 2:45 p.m. after they got a tip that “wanted individuals” were there.

Harris opened the door. The officers knew that Penn Township police had an arrest warrant for her in connection with a false identification case in September.

She told police that she was watching the home for the resident, who had been away for two weeks.

While in the home, police found Barrow in the basement.

A state police vice officer, later in the day, obtained a search warrant for the house. Police executed the warrant around 4:45 p.m.

The search, according to court documents, turned up 113 bags of heroin in the basement.

Police said they also found a digital scale, suspected drug-packaging materials, a cocaine test kit and other drug contraband.

Additionally, police said they found evidence in the house that linked Perkins to the suspected drugs.

District Judge Lewis Stoughton arraigned all three defendants on felony charges of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and misdemeanor charges of possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.
