Butler Police2:43 p.m. Tuesday — Steven A. Vlassich, 25, of Butler was caught allegedly shoplifting a Net10 cell phone from the Kmart store at Pullman Square. The phone is valued at $100. Vlassich is charged with retail theft.
Butler Twp. Police4:25 p.m. Monday — David L. Watterson, 56, of Butler was nabbed for hunting on posted property without the owner’s permission. Watterson is charged with trespass.
State Police, Butler7:30 a.m. Tuesday — A sport utility vehicle driven by Jacob Hurrelbrink, 27, of Parker struck an embankment and a tree before rolling onto its side along Slater Road near Dunkle Road in Allegheny Township.112:42 a.m. Sunday — An SUV driven by Brian W. Hetrick, 26, and a pickup truck driven by Charles L. Parker, 52, both of Chicora, collided on East Slippery Rock and Green streets in Chicora. Hetrick was cited for running a stop sign.
State Police, Franklin9:30 a.m. Sunday — Two people were hurt in a one-vehicle wreck on Route 38 in Scrubgrass Township. The crash happened when Franklin L. Huffman, 77, of Cheswick, Allegheny County, lost control of his pickup truck and struck a culvert.Huffman and his passenger Carole Huffman, 74, of Cheswick were taken to a Pittsburgh hospital with unknown injuries. Franklin Huffman was cited for driving at an unsafe sped.
State Police, Mercer1:10 p.m. Saturday — Icy conditions were blamed for a sequence of four crashes on Interstate 80 in Wolf Creek Township.In the second of those crashes, a pickup driven by Robert H. Harden, 50, of Talking Rock, Ga., skidded out of control and into the back of a tractor-trailer driven by Ronald D. Dunlap, 61, of Coldwater, Miss.Police did not immediately file reports for the other three crashes.
State Police, New CastleTuesday — An unknown thief stole nine vehicle batteries from three tractor-trailers parked in a lot in the 100 block of South Main Street in Bessemer.The batteries, owned by McClymonds Supply & Transit of Portersville and the Wayne W. Sell Corp. of Sarver, are valued at $100 each.The theft happened between 6 a.m. Nov. 22 and 5:40 a.m. Tuesday. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-598-2211.
State Police, Clarion12:50 p.m. Nov. 21 — A sport utility vehicle driven by Willow R. Huffman, 16, of Rimersburg struck a mailbox and ditch along Lawsonham Road in Rimersburg. Huffman was cited for driving on the wrong side of the road.
