Substitute assistant principal hired

Mars grad returns to alma mater

ADAMS TWP — A 2004 Mars High School graduate will return to help lead her alma mater.

The school board Tuesday night hired Lindsay Rosswog as the substitute assistant principal at the high school.

Rosswog will fill the position of Dale Sleva, who will move to the middle school in the 2015-16 school year as principal.

If Sleva remains at the middle school, dependent upon his evaluation at the end of the school year, Rosswog would be offered the assistant principal position at the high school on a permanent basis.

If Sleva returns to the high school, Rosswog would have to apply for the middle school principal position along with any other candidates.

Acting Superintendent William Pettigrew said he received 34 applications for the substitute assistant high school principal position.

Rosswog has a bachelor’s degree from Pennsylvania State University and a master’s degree in education from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore.

Rosswog, who is the acting director of instruction and curriculum at Clayton Academy in Pittsburgh, will earn $62,000 at Mars.
