Nine students at Butler High School have earned the designation of AP Scholar by the College Board in recognition of their achievement on the college-level Advanced Placement program.
Stephen Pichler
qualified for AP Scholar with Distinction by earning an average grade of 3.5 on all AP exams taken and a 3 or higher on five or more exams.
Four students qualified for the AP Scholar with Honor Award by earning an average grade of at least 3.25 on all AP exams and grades of 3 or higher on four or more exams. These students are

Four students qualified for the AP Scholar Award by completing three or more AP exams with grades of 3 or higher. They are

Jacqueline Hranica
of Sarver, the daughter of Edward and Donna Hranica, has been accepted at Gannon University for the fall 2005 semester.
A senior at Freeport High School, she plans to major in biology.
Hranica is the recipient of the Gannon University Valedictorian Scholarship Award.

Haley Hackett, the daughter of Thomas and Janis Hackett of Butler, has been cast as a dancer in a performance of "Dido and Aeneas" at Valparaiso University.
A graduate of Knoch High School, Hackett is a junior at the university and is pursuing a degree in elementary education.

of Butler, a student at Bethany College, was recently inducted into the Kappa Delta Pi honor society at the college.

honored six students from Mars High School and Pine-Richland High School, for being named students of the month.

Five Seneca Valley School District students are part of the River City Youth Brass Band, which will be performing a winter concert at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Carnegie Music Hall in the Oakland section of Pittsburgh. Admission is free.
