Tuesday — Police cited Donna J. Magan, 61, of Butler for bouncing a $199.03 check Dec. 13 at Friedman's supermarket on West Brady Street. The check was written on an account with insufficient funds. Magan is charged with bad checks.Monday — An unknown thief overnight stole a table saw and box of aluminium scrap metal from a home in the 300 block of Brown Avenue. The stolen property is valued at $115.11:36 a.m. Friday — Jonathon S. Dahl, 26, of East Brady, Clarion County, is accused of trying to stop the authorized repossession of an excavator from Interstate Builders on Kittanning Street.An Allegheny County tow service employee had gone to the contracting business to take back the machine and was driving away in the excavator when Dahl started chasing him.The suspect eventually jumped on the equipment and threatened the alleged victim, 53-year-old Jay Johnson of Murrysville, Westmoreland County, who was not hurt.Dahl is charged with simple assault and disorderly conduct. He is free on $3,000 bail.
3:59 p.m. Monday — Brandy Mueller, 27, of Butler suffered minor injuries when the car she was driving crashed into a concrete barrier on Route 422 at the Duffy Road overpass. Police suspect Mueller lost control of the vehicle when she fell asleep at the wheel.
Tuesday — Police cited Melanie Smith, 35, of Grove City for several dog violations stemming from a June 20 call on Beatty Street. Smith is charged with not having her dog registered, not having the dog confined, and not having a rabies vaccination for the dog.Monday — A gold colored Mongoose BMX-style bicycle was stolen from a yard at a home in the 300 block of Elm Street. The bike, valued at $257, was taken between 10:30 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. Monday.The bike has the initials “TW” scratched into the frame under the seat and has foot pegs on the front and rear tire. Anyone with information about the theft is asked to call 724-458-7925.1:28 p.m. Saturday — Samantha R. Welton, 26, was arrested following a domestic dispute at her home on West Poplar Street. She is charged with simple assault and harassment.2:19 p.m. Thursday — Ben Enis, 24, is accused of growing marijuana in a greenhouse at his home in the 400 block of Liberty Street. Enis is charged with two counts each of manufacturing a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Monday — Police filed criminal charges against Michael W. Menzock IV, 20, after three boys admitted they smoked marijuana at his home in the 300 block of South Main Street about 1:30 a.m. on May 5.Officers found the boys, two 16-year-olds and a 15-year-old, after going to Menzock's home to question him about an unrelated investigation.Police said they smelled marijuana coming from the home. They also found Menzock with a suspected marijuana pipe.He is charged with three counts of corruption of a minor and possession of drug paraphernalia.In an unrelated case, police cited Menzock with disorderly conduct in connection with a verbal argument he had with a 16-year-old Evans City girl about 9:25 a.m. June 20 on Main Street.
5:51 a.m. today — One person was hurt in a one-vehicle crash that closed Eau Claire Road in Marion Township for about 90 minutesPolice did not immediately file a report and the name of the woman driving the car was not known.She reportedly told investigators that she lost control of the vehicle when she swerved to avoid a deer on the road between Routes 8 and 308. The car struck an embankment and rolled over, authorities said.The woman suffered unknown injuries. Marion Township volunteer firefighters and Superior Ambulance assisted police at the scene. The road reopened shortly before 7:25 a.m.
11:48 p.m. Monday — Marcus B. Hetrick, 27, of Worthington was hurt when the car he was driving struck the back of a sport utility vehicle on Route 28 just north of the Fox Chapel Road underpass in O'Hara Township, Allegheny County. Hetrick, who was not wearing a seat belt, suffered minor injuries.Melissa M. Scalamogna, 44, of Pittsburgh, a passenger in the SUV driven by Thomas Cavacini Jr., 42, of Pittsburgh, also suffered minor injuries. She was wearing a seat belt.June 20 — A thief smashed a car window and stole a wallet and LG cell phone from the vehicle on Dam Road in South Buffalo Township, about one mile north of Freeport. The property, worth a combined $143, was taken between 5 and 5:35 p.m.
8:20 a.m. Tuesday — Nicole J. Fleming, 25, of Grove City suffered minor injuries when the car she was driving rear-ended another car at Route 58 and George Junior Road in Pine Township. Fleming was cited for careless driving. Rose M. Mathieson, 59, of Grove City was the other driver.
