Jason Christopher Wojcik

Jason Christopher Wojcik was born in Trenton, Mich., Aug. 26, 1976. He passed on his birthday, Aug. 26, 2017.

He was a graduate of Seneca Valley High School, where he was a member of the JROTC. He later enlisted in the U.S. Army.

During his dedicated years of service, his assignments included Fort Sill, Okla., Fort Stewart, Ga., Fort Irwin, Calif., Fort Huachuca, Ariz., Fort Hood, Texas, Fort Rucker, Ala., three deployments in Iraq and a deployment in Korea. His final assignment was in Camp Atterbury, Ind.

His proof of valor was shown by his numerous awards and medals consisting of three Meritorious Service Medals, six Army Commendation Medals, five Army Achievement Medals, six Army Good Conduct Medals, National Defense Service Medal, three Iraq Campaign Medals with Bronze Service Stars, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korean Defense Medal, three Non-Commissioned Officers Professional Development Ribbons, Army Survive Ribbons, four Overseas Service Ribbons, Expert Weapon Qualifications Badge, Senior Aviation Badge, Driver and Mechanic Badge, four Overseas Service Bars and Meritorious Unit Commendation.

His military career was in military intelligence as an instructor of UAV operations and the operations of UAVs.

Jason had numerous hobbies that included fishing, woodworking, computer programming and finding ways to improve things from everyday life to complicated electronic equipment. He continuously impressed with his ingenuity.

Jason was devoted to the military and his family. However, the light of his life was his daughter, Jayden. His fulfillment of his true happiness was always with his little girl. His bond with her was so pure and strong that even in death it can never be broken.

Jason is survived by his parents, Dan Koebler and Elaine Kuhns, of Grove City; his daughter, Jayden Wojcik, of Nineveh, Ind.; a brother, Jaime Wojcik and his wife, Hannah, of Eaton, Ohio; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews; and his military family and friends.

Jason was preceded in death by his grandparents, George and Ann Chemsak, of McKeesport, and his wife, Melissa Wojcik, of Nineveh, Ind.

WOJCIK — Visitation for Jason Christopher Wojcik, who died Saturday, Aug. 26, 2017, will be held from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m., Thursday at Cunningham Funeral Home, 306 Bessemer Ave., Grove City. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Michael Allison officiating. Burial will be at America's Cemetery, Hermitage.
