[naviga:h3]Kelly, DiNicola to debate in Erie[/naviga:h3]

U.S. Rep. Mike Kelly, R-3rd, and Democratic challenger Ron DiNicola of Erie will face each other in a debate at 7 p.m. Oct. 8 at Mercyhurst University in Erie.

DiNicola is challenging Kelly in the upcoming election to represent the newly formed 16th Congressional District.

Kelly has proposed two other debates — Oct. 16 at Grove City College in Mercer County and Oct. 30 at Butler County Community College.

DiNicola said he wants one debate in each of the five counties in the 16th District. The Oct. 8 debate is the only one that both men have agreed to.

[naviga:h3]Saxonburg VFC runs fund drive[/naviga:h3]

The Saxonburg Volunteer Fire Company and Ambulance Division is conducting its annual subscription campaign for 2018-19.

Subscription fees are due by Oct. 15.

Letters were mailed to residents in the service area of Saxonburg Borough, Jefferson, Clinton and Winfield townships and a portion of Buffalo Township.
