Presenter Gail Gilliland, in black, leads a small group of aspiring writers during Saturday's Young Writer's Conference hosted by Heather Cherry Consulting Co., and sponsored by The Eagle. Nine writers attended the program at Holly Pointe, including (from left) Jessica Bobenrieth, Rachel Steiner and Blair Bowen. In addition to small-group workshops, the conference included a networking lunchaimed at helping students become familiar with the professional world of writing through various writing styles and networking tactics. On Wednesday, the social marketing and content consulting firm will hold a free Writer's Group at the Butler Public Library from 6:30-7:30 p.m.
