Moniteau board appoints Nicole Sadler, former board candidate, to vacant seat
CHERRY TWP — Moniteau School District’s board of directors appointed Nicole Sadler, a resident of Clay Township and former school board candidate, to fill a vacant seat at its general meeting Monday, Aug. 17.
Sadler will replace Michael Baptiste, who resigned from the board on July 20 less than a year after being elected due to “personal circumstances that would not allow him to fulfill his duties.”
Sadler, who ran for school board in 2025, is an administrative specialist for the Office of Personnel Management, working out of the Iron Mountain site for over a decade.
Sadler said she’s had over a dozen children attend Moniteau School District as a biological and foster mother. She has also been involved with the parent advisory council and the parent teacher organization.
“I wanted to do this because I’ve had so many kids, biologically and through foster, that have gone through this school district. And I’ve learned that not every student is one size fits all, so I want to be a voice for the kids that have differing paths to success,” Sadler said.
Sadler’s term will last through December 2027.
When she previously ran for school board, Sadler told the Eagle her main focuses were collaborating with educators to evaluate curriculum and strengthen student support systems, budget accountability, increasing accessibility to school board meetings and encouraging more open communication between families and the district.
“I want to thank you for putting your name forward. We all appreciate it and we all look forward to, really anybody that’s willing to come in and donate some time,” board President Kathy McBride said Monday night.
