Jackson Twp. to vote on two developments, data center use at Aug. 20 meeting
JACKSON TWP — At an agenda-setting meeting on Monday, Aug. 17, township officials moved a number of items up for vote forward to the board of supervisors meeting on Thursday, Aug. 20.
Two residential development applications will be up for vote at the meeting.
Notably, the board will vote on Hartmann Estates, a 56 single-family lot development on a 122.97-acre site, which is currently the Hartmann’s Deep Valley Golf Course.
Prior to the vote, the township will continue a public hearing on the Hartmann Estates application, which had started during the township’s July 16 meeting.
“There aren’t really a ton of outstanding issues,” said Chris Rearick, township manager.
He said he anticipates some discussion about opening up access to Seneca Valley School District’s campus through Hartmann Road with an access easement from developers.
“My concern is that if we don't garner that at present, then it’s going to be much more difficult to go in after that plan is developed and try to procure an easement,” Rearick said.
Township and school district officials have reviewed the matter, Rearick said, and next steps will depend upon the school district’s decision on whether they want the access as a secondary or emergency entrance.
Additionally, the township will rule on final approval for phases one and two of Wolff Property’s 31-acre, 121-home planned development located along Pattison Street and Hartzell Road.
The township will also decide on an amendment to the municipal code relating to data centers and solar electric energy facilities.
The revision will open up the two types of facilities for conditional use in a specific type of industrial zoning district.
The public hearing portion will also consist of discussion and comments about the ordinance amendment.
