NWS: Still warm, but not heat wave level for remainder of week
While still warm, temperatures for the rest of this week are not expected to reach the heights of last week’s heat wave.
According to forecasts from the National Weather Service, the high temperature for Thursday is expected to reach as much as 86 degrees Fahrenheit, with highs for the rest of the week not breaking past the low 80s.
“It’s a little bit more normal for this time of year,” said Chris Leonardi, meteorologist for the National Weather Service in Pittsburgh.
However, there are chances of rain for the remainder of the week, including a 60% chance of precipitation on Thursday night which will increase to a 90% chance on Friday afternoon.
“Friday is expected to be a little cooler because there are chances of rain,” Leonardi said. “It'll be typically warm and humid conditions that you expect in rain. We're looking at showers and thunderstorms producing a nice wetting rain on Friday.”
Saturday’s forecast calls for a 30% chance of thunderstorms, followed by mostly sunny weather and a high of 82 degrees on Sunday.
