David Norris Sr.
David A. Norris Sr., 83, of Tarentum, passed away peacefully with his family by his side, on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at his home.
Born Sept. 5, 1942, in Natrona Heights, he was the son of W. Charles Norris and Lelia Snider Norris.
Dave was the owner of D & D Auto Salvage. A truck driver at heart, he had over 40 years behind the wheel, driving literally millions of miles. Early in his career, he was a driver for Tesone Trucking and a road foreman for Fawn Township.
At Lernerville Speedway, Dave was a key member of the Norris Racing Team. For many years at the local drag races, he dominated the competition in his Hemi-powered Dodges. He was an avid fisherman, spending much of his later years with a reel in his hand at the St. Johns River or at the ocean at Flagler Beach. He was a familiar face at the local car cruises with one of his many classic cars.
Surviving are two sons, David (Mary Lou) Norris Jr., of Sarver, and Michael (Anne) Norris, of Sarver; his sister, Jean Fox, of Saxonburg; three grandchildren, David (Julie) Norris III, Michael (Jessi) Norris and Melinda (Nico) Dabecco; eight great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Dave was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Marlene Turner Norris, on Feb. 5, 2026; and two brothers, James Norris and John Norris.
NORRIS — There will be no public visitation for David A. Norris Sr., who died Wednesday, July 1, 2026.
Dave will be laid to rest privately in the Westminster Presbyterian Church Cemetery, in Sarver.
