Whitmire

Brett L. Whitmire, 47, of Butler, passed away Friday, June 26, 2026.

He was born in Butler on Oct. 29, 1978, to Braden Yartz and Debra (Whitmire) Young. Brett graduated from Moniteau High School and was employed as a lawn service supervisor.

He was known for being kind, loving, helpful, protective, a gentle giant and a big family man with a heart of gold. Brett loved life and he always knew what he wanted in life. He was a thrill-seeker and adventurous, and when he got excited, everyone said his eyes would light up. Brett loved to go kayaking, and riding motorcycles and dirt bikes. He enjoyed drawing and watching football, especially the Steelers, and NASCAR racing.

Brett is survived by his parents; his companion of 10 years, Faith Hickerson; his children, Kolton, Mason, Dylan, Cody, Ryan, Noah and Tyler; and his siblings, Joseph and Braden Yartz and Frankie Cochran. He is also survived by his seven grandchildren.

WHITMIRE — Family and friends of Brett L. Whitmire, who died Friday, June 26, 2026, will be received from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, July 6, at SPENCER D. GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 140 New Castle Road, Butler. A closing prayer will immediately follow in the funeral home.
