John Eck

Eck

John E. Eck, 66, of East Brady, died peacefully, at his home, on Thursday, May 28, 2026.

Born June 17, 1959, in Butler, he was the son of Darl and Josephine (Marchiori) Eck.

A 1977 East Brady High School graduate, John began his career at East Brady Lumber in 1979, and remained there for 32 years until its closing in 2011. He later found work at Bradyview Manor Personal Care home and provided home health care and companionship to many friends in East Brady. He also enjoyed delivering the Butler Eagle for several years.

His passion was watching Pittsburgh Pirates baseball, and his knowledge of Pirates baseball history and statistics was unlimited. He enjoyed music and traveled to many music venues for concerts, as well as to see the solar eclipses over the years. A unique individual, John was also a man of knowledge who possessed a quick wit. He showed his compassion for others as a caregiver to his parents, aunt and area residents.

John is survived by numerous cousins and East Brady friends who were family to him.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents and parents, his brother, Paul F. Eck, as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins. All who knew him, mourn his passing.
