Knoch holding special meeting to re-pass budget, tax increase

Knoch DME

Knoch School District’s board of directors will hold a special meeting at 7 a.m. Monday, June 22, in the district’s special office building to re-approve the 2026-27 general budget and tax increase without any changes.

The board had previously voted on June 3 to pass its $40.21 million along with a 3.5% millage rate increase, the first in a decade. The district said the increase equates to roughly $69 per year for a home assessed at the median value.

However, the district initially approved the preliminary budget on May 13. In Pennsylvania, districts have to publicly display their budget proposal for 30 days before singing off on it.

Districts have to pass their budget by the end of June.
