Thomas Frye

Frye

Thomas Eugene Frye, 54, of Butler, passed away in the comfort of his home on Tuesday, May 12, 2026.

Born Aug. 6, 1971, in Butler, he was a son of the late Joseph Frye and Mary Ann Stutz Frye.

A building construction laborer for 32 years, he worked out of Local 373 of the Laborers’ International Union.

Tom loved cars. If he wasn’t working on cars, or helping someone with a car, he was talking about cars.

He is survived by two sisters, Lisa Noullet and her husband, Doug, of Butler, and Connie Frye, of Freeport; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jennifer Marie Scherder Frye, whom he married June 6, 2003, and who passed away Dec. 20, 2020; and three brothers, Joseph Frye, Daniel Frye and Robert Frye.

The Frye family extends their deep and sincere thanks to Tom’s in-laws, the Kamerer family and the Toomey family, for the care and support they provided to Tom during his two-and-a-half-year battle with cancer.
