Born April 7, 1928, in Pittsburgh, Mary Agnes dedicated her life to her family, embodying love and warmth that radiated through her home.
Mary Agnes is survived by and was the beloved wife of Edward F. Birkholz Sr., with whom, after a two-week courtship, she got engaged and married one year later on June 11, 1949. She was a nurturing and devoted mother to her four children, Christine Ross (the late John), of Birmingham, Ala., Richard (Lorri), of Wexford, Edward Jr. (Theresa), of Cranberry Township, and William (Kathy), of Englewood, Fla. She was also a foster parent to Jane (Lloyd) Rector, of California, and her sister, Diane Lloyd, of Michigan, who claim she had a positive and life-changing influence on their lives. Her legacy of love will continue through her 15 grandchildren, Carolyn, John, Amelia, Andrew, Aaron, Ross, Stephanie, Allison, Michele, Jennifer, Lauren, Kristin, Celia, Mindy and Mike; and 23 great-grandchildren, who held a special place in her heart and all fondly referred to her as MumMum.
