Lavada George
Lavada E. George, 89, of Zelienople, passed away Saturday, Aug. 22, 2026, peacefully while at home surrounded by family.
Born Jan. 3, 1937, in Portersville, she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Anne Kugel Thomas.
Lavada was a woman of faith. She was a devoted member of St. Peter’s Reformed Church and instilled faith as a core value in her family. Lavada was a dedicated homemaker and helped with work on the family farm. In her free time, she enjoyed bluegrass music, playing the upright bass and bowling. Lavada will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her loving husband of 68 years, Paul George; her children, Eugene (Debbie), Scott (Amy) and Donn (Doreen); six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and her sister, Virginia (Dale) Barnhart.
In addition to her parents, Lavada was preceded in death by her brothers, Loy, Dale and Leroy.
GEORGE — Friends and family of Lavada E. George, who died Saturday, Aug. 22, 2026, will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 26, at BOYLAN FUNERAL HOME, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.
A service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 27, at the funeral home.
Lavada will be laid to rest at St. Peter's Reformed Church Cemetery, in Zelienople.
