Ruth Ann Kennedy Jones, 82, of Mars, passed away Friday morning, May 8, 2026, at UPMC Passavant-McCandless Hospital.

Born in Adams Township on Aug. 28, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Loyal V. and Emma M. Schilling Kennedy.

Ruth had been the branch manager for Mars National Bank at the Adams Township office.

She was a member of Old Union Presbyterian Church, where she had been a deacon and Sunday school teacher.

Surviving are two brothers, Wayne L. Kennedy (Antoinette), of Mars, and Paul L. Kennedy, of Evans City; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ross W. “Tyke” Jones, whom she married May 14, 1977, and who died April 24, 1997; and by her companion, Gerald “Pete” McCandless.

JONES — Friends of Ruth Ann Kennedy Jones, who died Friday, May 8, 2026, are invited to a memorial service at 4 p.m. Saturday, May 16, at Old Union Presbyterian Church, 200 Union Church Road, Mars, PA 16046, with the Rev. Dr. Peter de Vries, pastor, officiating.

Burial will be in Mars Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Building Fund of Old Union Presbyterian Church.
