Butler man charged with threatening police officer
A Butler man is accused of threatening to kill a Butler police officer while being apprehended.
Dalton James Anthony, 24, was charged Sunday, May 10, by Butler police with one misdemeanor count each of terroristic threats, simple assault and resisting arrest following an incident Sunday.
Police said they were dispatched to the 200 block of Spring Street and spoke with four people who accused Anthony of destroying the apartment. Police said Anthony had ripped pieces of a woman’s hair out and had to be separated from her bu another individual present.
Officers allege they found Anthony in the master bedroom of the apartment showing signs of impairment. Police said Anthony pulled away from officers and threatened to kill one officer multiple times while they tried to apprehend him.
Anthony is being held in Butler County Prison on $50,000 bail. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Monday before District Judge William Fullerton.
