The Bureau of Dog Law Enforcement will travel through the county to verify that all dogs are properly licensed for 2026, Butler County officials announced.
The canvassing will begin in Slippery Rock and surrounding areas Wednesday, May 13. It will continue southward over 3 weeks, with concentrated canvassing in Cranberry Township, City of Butler and other surrounding municipalities.
Every unlicensed dog is a $500 citation to its owner. Dog licenses are sold in the county treasurer’s office or online at www.butlercountypa.gov.
