Clair “Butch” Gold, 70, of Butler, passed away Tuesday, April 28, 2026.

He was born in Butler on Oct. 25, 1955, to Cecil and Doris (Bauer) Gold.

Butch honorably served in the U.S. Army, where he received his National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal and Expert Rifle and Grenade Launcher. After his service, he worked for PennDOT and Lick Hill Volunteer Fire Department.

Butch was a kind, loyal and loving husband and father. He was a proud Army veteran and firefighter, dedicated to the community; who enjoyed baseball, football, hockey and gardening. Butch was always there to lend a helpful hand and loved his family with his whole heart. He was known for his reliable, compassionate nature, loyal integrity and patience.

Butch was the beloved husband of Hageng (Youn) Gold; father of Judy Gold and Linda (Jason) Kusner; brother of Tim (Lisa) Gold; grandfather of David (Alyssa) and Travis (Jade) Christley; and great-grandfather of Kayden, Tanner and Carly Christley. Two nephews also survive.

GOLD — All services for Clair “Butch” Gold, who died Tuesday, April 28, 2026, were held privately through SPENCER D. GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 140 New Castle Road, Butler.

Burial was held privately.
