Shearer Bridge eastbound shoulder closure to start May 7
PennDOT announced Monday, May 4, a change to traffic patterns for the Route 422 bridge preservation project in Butler and Summit townships will take effect Thursday, May 7.
The eastbound shoulder lane along the bridge is restricted starting Thursday, the department announced. The 12-foot lane restrictions in both directions, as well as the stop sign on the westbound on-ramp, will remain.
Previously, the eastbound shoulder was slated to close April 27. A representative from PennDOT said the closure was delayed due to weather.
The $6.2 million project is estimated to be completed at the end of October. Work is weather dependent. Traffic patterns and restrictions are expected to change throughout the project.
