Woman shot Saturday morning at Moraine State Park
A New Jersey man is being charged with attempted homicide after state police say he shot a woman Saturday, May 2, at Moraine State Park.
According to state police, Jevonn J. Brown, 31, of Westampton Township, N.J., got into an argument with a woman he knows on Bear Run Road in Muddy Creek Township, which is within Moraine State Park, while they were visiting the park. Police said Brown fired a pistol at the victim, who was seated in a vehicle, and she was struck multiple times.
The victim received treatment at the scene and was transported to Allegheny General Hospital. On Sunday, state police said the injuries were not life-threatening.
Brown was taken into custody and is charged with attempted homicide, aggravated assault and reckless endangerment.
He is being held in Butler County jail.
State police said in a public information report there are no other individuals involved in the incident and there is no danger to the public related to the incident.
