Herman Mini Mart closes, plans to sell

A family-owned cornerstore in Herman has closed its doors and will be sold so the owners can focus on family matters.

Liz Schnur, co-owner of the Herman Mini Mart located at 816 Herman Road in Summit Township, announced on April 22 through a Facebook video that business would be wrapping up over the coming days.

“The Schnurs — the four of us, as a family — we’ve decided we’re going to sell the store. We are going to miss all of you terribly. This was the hardest decision we’ve ever had to make,” she said in the video.

She thanked the community for the outpouring of support and business they’ve received over the last 6 years.

“It’s been one of the greatest gifts God has given us,” she said.

She said the family made the decision to prioritize family matters, such as getting her husband, Adam, back on his feet and spending time with her father.

“This isn’t forever. We’ll still be floating around,” she said.

On Saturday, April 25, Schnur made another post to her Facebook alongside photos of her taking a bow in the store’s kitchen.

“The final curtain. I love you,” the post read.
