David Thompson
David Dewight Thompson, 86, of Harrisville, left this earth for his heavenly home on Saturday, April 25, 2026, surrounded by his daughter and grandchildren following a period of declining health.
Dave was born March 15, 1940, and was the son of the late Paul and Emma Huselton Thompson in Cherry Township. He attended Pipestem School and graduated from Moniteau High School as a member of the class of 1958. In 1962 he moved to Golden, Colorado, where he was employed by Coors Porcelain Company. This is also where he met and married his late wife, Donna Lea Dick, on June 7, 1963. Dave returned to Pennsylvania in 1976 where he became employed as a custodian at his alma mater. He retired in 2002 from Moniteau School District.
Dave was a devoted father to Diane L. Thompson (Jeff) and was extremely proud of his grandchildren, Kayla R. Madison (Dan), Brandon A. Madison (Keri), Marissa N. Baptie, Dillon J. Madison and Tiffany D. Madison (Matt); and his great-grandchildren, Isabelle, Lilliana, Aurora, Audrey and Ariana. He is also survived by his fiancée of 22 years, Carol Wilson; sister-in-law, Donna Livengood; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Dave was preceded in death by his wife, three sisters and three brothers.
THOMPSON — As per his wishes, there will be no services for David Dewight Thompson, who died Saturday, April 25, 2026.
Private burial will be in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
The WILLIAM F. YOUNG FUNERAL HOME in West Sunbury assisted the family in honoring Dave’s wishes.
