Ronald Porch
Ronald “Ron” S. Porch, 89, of Butler, passed away Friday, April 17, 2026.
He was born in Butler on Jan. 21, 1937, son of the late Ronald and Mary (Gerg) Porch.
Ron attended Butler Area High School and then furthered his education at St. Vincent College. He honorably served in the U. S. Navy from 1956 to 1960, in Spain, Italy, Lebanon and Panama, on the USS Oglethorpe.
Ron worked at Armco Steel for 35 years. He was known for his kind heart and unwavering support of military veteran organizations. Ron enjoyed spending time at camp, fishing and hunting. He loved to play pool and hang out with his friends at McBride Station, Cheers, Saxonburg VFW and Sarver Vets. Ron was a member of the Hilltop Beagle Club and the Saxonburg VFW Post 7376.
Ron was the beloved husband of the late Georgine (Colley) Porch, whom he married in 1960; father of David (Crystal) Porch, Melissa (Chris) Richards and Christopher (Candis) Porch; grandfather of Alyce (Greg) Acre, Nichole White, Tifany (Justin) O’Donnell, and Ronnie, Monika and Ryan Porch; and great-grandfather of Mara and Alayna Acre, Chanel and Nicholas White, and Rhett O’Donnell. He is also survived by his daughter-in-law, Tamara Kleinfelder.
Along with his parents and wife, Ron was preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey Porch.
PORCH — Family and friends of Ronald “Ron” S. Porch, who died Friday, April 17, 2026, will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, April 23, at SPENCER D. GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 140 New Castle Road, Butler. Full military honors will immediately follow in the funeral home.
Burial will be held privately at North Main Street Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Butler County Humane Society, in honor of Ron.
