Catherine ‘Louise’ Rodgers
Catherine Louise “Weezie” Rodgers, 87, of Butler, passed away peacefully Saturday, April 11, 2026.
Born in Johnstown on Aug. 25, 1938, she was the beloved daughter of the late John Joseph Patay and Catherine Matilda (Rolincik) Patay.
Louise, or “Weezie” as she was affectionately known by all, dedicated much of her professional life to the art of hospitality. She spent many years as an events coordinator for Holiday Inn Hotels before serving as a food service representative for Sysco and J & J Food Service. Weezie truly reveled in her work. She was an expert at planning and coordinating weddings and functions, finding joy in making life’s biggest moments seamless and beautiful for others.
Her retirement years were just as vibrant. Weezie was a woman rich in friendship and blessed with a large circle of loved ones, with whom she frequently vacationed and visited. However, her greatest role was yet to come: “Grandma Weezie.” She became the most devoted and loving child care provider her grandchildren could have ever hoped for, pouring the same passion into her family that she once gave to her career.
An avid reader and gardener, Weezie was perhaps best known for her presence in the kitchen. As anyone who knew her would tell you, she loved to cook and her meals were a reflection of her generous spirit. She was a beautiful, caring soul sharing stories, memories and kindness with everyone she met.
She is survived by her loving children, Mike, Jeff and Jim Rodgers. She also leaves behind her beloved daughter-in-law, Susan Rodgers. Her legacy lives on through her cherished grandchildren, Sydney, Stephanie, Clayton and Chandler Rodgers.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy Safko and Margaret Komara.
