Jogger struck by vehicle in Zelienople sues for damages

A Butler County man has filed a lawsuit against a woman who he said struck him with her vehicle in August 2024 while he was jogging in Zelienople.

Gregory Price and his wife, Kayla Price, filed the suit Monday, March 30, in Butler County Common Pleas Court against Christine Cooper seeking damages in excess of $35,000.

While jogging Aug. 21 around 7:05 a.m. in a westbound direction on the sidewalk of East Grandview Avenue toward the intersection of North Oliver Avenue, Gregory Price said Cooper struck him as he entered the intersection, according to the suit.

Cooper was driving a 2023 Ford Bronco north on North Oliver Road when she approached the intersection, which is governed by a stop sign. She failed to properly stop at the sign, proceeded forward without making sure the intersection and pedestrian crossing area were clear and struck Price with her vehicle’s front bumper, according to the suit.

The impact threw Price several feet and he landed on the road. He had numerous injuries, including a concussion, traumatic brain injury, post concussion syndrome, whiplash, a suspected spleen laceration, right shoulder and hip pain, left ankle injury and musculoskeletal and soft tissue injuries throughout his body, according to the suit.

Price has had, and could continue to undergo, medical treatment, lost earnings and earning capacity and experiences during normal activities, according to the suit.

Cooper could not be reached for comment.
