Shearer Bridge preservation project pushed to April 2 due to weather
The start of a scheduled preservation project for the Shearer Bridge in Butler and Summit townships, which carries Route 422 over Connoquenessing Creek, has been pushed back a day to Thursday, April 2, due to weather.
Preservation work will begin around the area of the intersection of East Jefferson Street and Route 422, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation. The first phase of the project will involve single-lane, 12-foot restrictions on both the eastbound and westbound lanes of Route 422.
Mekis Construction of Fenelton will be in charge of the project, which is estimated to cost $6.2 million and finish by October.
