Connoquenessing Township hosting multiple cleanup events in May

Connoquenessing Township will be hosting multiple cleanup and recycling events in May.

On May 9 and 16, the township will host recycling days in partnership with Connoquenessing borough, Evans City and Forward Township. Both events will be held outside the Forward Township municipal building on Ash Stop Road.

The May 9 recycling event, open between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m., will allow residents to dispose of electronic devices and tires. Tire disposal fees range from $3 each for passenger tires to $40 each for rimmed tractor trailer tires. The second event, held May 16 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., will allow residents to dispose of any other recyclables.

The first event is organized by Noble Environmental, and an appointment through Noble’s website is required to participate.

Also on May 16, Connoquenessing Township will host its third annual “Keep Conno Clean” trash pickup event starting at 8 a.m. Participants will meet at the township’s municipal building on Township Drive. Cleanup supplies will be provided for participants.

“We will go from there, and we will clean up some of our roads that need a little bit more attention as far as just general clutter and trash,” said township Supervisor Angela Fleeger. “We welcome everybody to participate in that event.”
