Evans City hosting America250 sing-along July 5
The day after our country’s sesquicentennial, Evans City will host the “A Voice For Liberty” 250th anniversary musical event on Sunday, July 5, at the Evans City Cemetery. The event is scheduled for 1 p.m. that day, shortly after Sunday church services conclude at the cemetery’s chapel.
The cemetery is well-known for being one of the filming locations for the cult classic horror film “Night of the Living Dead.”
According to Evans City mayor Dean Zinkhann, the event will feature patriotic music and historical trivia about America’s past.
“We’re going to sing along to patriotic songs. The sing-along is our main event, and we’ll also have patriotic trivia questions,” Zinkhann said. “Bring your own chair, because we’ll be outside.”
In case of rain, the event will be held inside the cemetery’s chapel.
Evans City will join Adams, Forward and Cranberry townships in holding special America250-themed events surrounding America’s sesquicentennial on July 4.
