Couples meet vendors at Butler County Wedding Show

PENN TWP — “The Mansion” in Penn Township is one of Butler County’s most popular wedding venues.

On Sunday, Feb. 15, The Mansion wasn’t hosting a wedding, but a wedding trade show.

The first Butler County Wedding Show was a place for couples-to-be to tie the knot with vendors to plan all aspects of their ceremony, including the venue, the catering, the transportation, the flowers, the photography, and other services.

“Everybody here is hoping to speak to bridal parties...to put together all the different logistical things they need for a wedding,” said Amy Pack, president of Experience Butler County. “Whether it's flowers, or a bakery, or a caterer, or a wedding venue, or a hotel...all those different amenities are represented, and they're all here to meet with prospective customers.”

Pack said the trade show came about because of Butler County’s unique cluster of small businesses that provide services for weddings or wedding-adjacent events, such as showers or bachelor parties.

“We have so many businesses that interact with the wedding business, whether they be a florist or a bakery or a wedding venue,” Pack said. “We thought it was high time that we offered a show of our own to showcase the huge wedding business Butler County has.”

According to Pack, 34 vendors set up shop at the Wedding Show — as many as could fit on the ground floor of The Mansion.

“We had to, unfortunately, turn some people away because we didn't have enough space,” Pack said, “but we had an overwhelming response from vendors.”

Ironically, a large portion of the vendors who set up at the Wedding Show were other wedding and event venues competing with The Mansion for couples, such as the Selenite Tea House in Middlesex Township, which opened its doors in April 2025.

“I think it's been a really great turnout today,” said Selenite owner Kelley Perry. “I think there's a lot of great vendors here, too, that are excited to talk vendor-to-vendor and see how we can all help each other locally.”

Bobby Gees, a transportation service that offers party buses for weddings, parked one of its 14-passenger luxury buses in front of The Mansion for guests to sample. A group of guests huddled together in the vehicle to watch Olympic curling on the large screen in the back.

“We brought the bus. The lights are on, the music's on, the TV's on,” said Cloressa Gracie. “We do weddings, bachelors, bachelorettes, concerts, tailgating, anything that you need to transport people to.”

One vendor, Event Rentals of Pittsburgh — a full-service event rental and design consultant — proudly touted its connection with the upcoming NFL Draft, to be held April 23 in Pittsburgh.

“So far, we've already contracted with them for some tables, chairs and linens. We've done some private events with the Steelers, and we're looking forward to doing more of that,” said event planner Tonya Edinger. “There's a lot of kids that just became ‘draft members’, and we're supplying them with private parties and celebrations.”
