37 Butler County fire, EMS agencies receive nearly $600,000 in grant money
More than three dozen fire and emergency medical service agencies in Butler County will receive a combined total of $589,200.47 in funding from the state Fire Company and Emergency Medical Services Grant.
The grant is administered by Pennsylvania’s Office of the State Fire Commissioner and the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency.
Fire departments in Butler County supported by the grant include Adams Area, Bruin, Buffalo Township, Butler City, Butler Township, Callery, Chicora Community, Connoquenessing, Cranberry Township, East Butler, Eau Claire, Evans City, Harmony, Harrisville, Herman, Marion Township, Middlesex Township, North Washington, Oneida Valley, Penn Township, Petrolia, Portersville/Muddy Creek, Prospect, Sarver, Saxonburg, Slippery Rock, Unionville and West Sunbury.
Emergency medical service agencies supported by grant funding include Butler Ambulance Service, Cranberry Township EMS, East Butler Volunteer Fire Department’s EMS, Harmony EMS, Karns City Regional Ambulance Service, Portersville/Muddy Creek Volunteer EMS, Quality EMS, Saxonburg Volunteer Fire Company’s EMS and Slippery Rock Rescue Team.
The largest grant went to the Butler Township Volunteer Fire District, which received $50,446.
Funding for the grant is supported by proceeds from slot machine gaming across Pennsylvania. A full list of grant recipients is available here.
