Cabot Church offers water for Bernie’s Mobile Home Park residents
WINFIELD TWP — With Bernie’s Mobile Home Park in Winfield Township experiencing yet another run of water issues, Cabot Church on Winfield Road is lending a hand to those in need of clean drinking water.
Starting Thursday night, Feb. 13, cases and bottles of water were available at the doorway to the church’s welcome center and available to Bernie’s residents while supplies last.
“Local business have donated water to the cause,” said Missy Plyler, the church’s children’s ministry director. “We’ve bought water from numerous places — Sprankle’s, Giant Eagle, True Value, Walmart.”
Much of the supply was donated by Winfield Township itself, which received a large donation of cases of water from Lou Negley’s in November 2025 after Bernie’s residents experienced the first in a series of water issues.
During the trailer park’s two prior water outages, volunteers from the church also delivered water to Bernie’s residents upon request, according to Plyler.
“We have on numerous occasions and we'll probably do it again,” Plyler said. “We're always available for the local community with whatever needs they have. We just want to share the love of Jesus and give physical nourishment to people along with spiritual nourishment.”
