Moniteau students go snowshoeing

The recent snowfall has allowed Moniteau students to experience the magic of snowshoeing during their physical education classes.

With the large amounts of snowfall the area has gotten, physical education teacher Julie Saeler decided to offer the “snowshoe experience” to her students. Students learn how to put the snowshoes on, how to use them and what it feels like.

They can even choose to stay after school on Tuesday for a longer snowshoe hike.

Equipment was provided by Moraine State Park and the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources.

“Many people hate the cold winter and even suffer from the winter blues,” Saeler said. “Getting outside and moving our bodies can prove that there is beauty in the winter months and we are indeed capable of getting out and enjoying it.”
