The sale of the historic Hotel Saxonburg has been delayed yet again, with the new date set for 11 a.m. Friday, May 15.

According to Butler County’s sheriff sale listings, the date for the sale has been postponed from Jan. 16 to the new date in May. While a reason for the delay is not immediately known, Butler County Sheriff Mike Slupe said after the first delay that continuances can be requested for a variety of reasons.

“They can request a continuance for any reason,” Slupe said in November. “It could be service-related. It could be bankruptcy. It could be a deed in lieu of foreclosure. They don’t have to tell us.”

Hotel Saxonburg, a Saxonburg focal point with history dating back 200 years, announced its closure in March 2025, about a year and a half after it was purchased by Annette Gervais and Lee Uncapher under the company name Two20 LLC.

According to Butler County court records, the previous owners defaulted on loans of $600,000 and $50,000 from Northwest Bank, which were both issued in October 2023.

Although previous reports indicated anonymous buyers had shown interest in acquiring the historic business prior to the announcement of the sheriff’s sale, no purchase occurred.
