Cranberry Township motorcyclist found dead days after crash along I-79 ramp
The remains of a motorcyclist were found Thursday morning, May 21, on the Interstate 79 northbound ramp from Route 228 in Cranberry Township.
Milo Corll, 36, of Cranberry Township, crashed on Tuesday, but was discovered Thursday following an investigation, state police said.
Trooper Bertha Cazy, state police public information officer, said Corll was found past the treeline, making the crash not clearly visible from the road.
The crash occurred around 1:50 a.m. Tuesday morning. Police found the crash around 9:30 a.m. Thursday and were seen hauling the motorcycle from the site later in the day.
Several Facebook posts made on Wednesday indicated Corll was missing earlier this week.
“Looking for my friend Milo Corll haven’t heard or seen him since Monday night,” Jay Hogart said in a Wednesday post. “Last seen at Cenci’s in Cranberry Township. Please share.”
According to police, Corll entered the ramp before ending up off the roadway. He continued west, where police said he struck multiple saplings and other foliage and was thrown from the motorcycle.
Police said Corll was not wearing a helmet and sustained a fatal injury. Camera footage from a nearby business was used to verify the date and time of the crash.
Butler County Coroner Korynne Young confirmed that her office was responding to the scene for one fatality.
