Trooper struck by vehicle in Muddy Creek Township incident
A state trooper was struck by a vehicle Monday afternoon, Dec. 29, at the intersection of New Castle Road and Interstate 79 in Muddy Creek Township.
According to a news release from the Pennsylvania State Police, the incident occurred after state troopers were dispatched to a two-vehicle accident at the Route 422 ramp. While on scene, a state trooper was struck by another vehicle.
According to Butler County Emergency Services dispatch reports, the trooper’s foot was injured and emergency crews applied a tourniquet to the injury.
The operator of the vehicle that struck the trooper remained on scene, according to the state police news release.
Pennsylvania State Police reported that the trooper is in stable condition at a local hospital.
The incident was first reported shortly after 2 p.m.
