Alameda Park hosting free Christmas lights show
For the past week, Alameda Park in Butler Township has been decked out for the holiday season with its annual drive-through holiday light display.
The light show is open each night until Christmas Day, Dec. 25. Lights are set up on a 1/3-mile loop surrounding the Odd Fellows Gazebo at the park.
To add to the holiday spirit, drivers are encouraged to turn their radios to WWSW-FM (94.5), a Pittsburgh radio station playing all Christmas music through the season.
Patrons are also urged not to leave their car or touch any displays while driving through the exhibit. The recommended speed is 5 mph.
“We encourage people to go 5, just because they’re going through a light display,” said Lance Welliver, director of Butler County Parks & Recreation, the agency that maintains Alameda Park. “At maximum, it should take 10 to 15 minutes (to drive through).”
Donations to Butler County Parks & Recreation can be made through the agency’s website at https://bcpr.recdesk.com.
