Butler school board member pens children’s book
A member of the Butler Area School District’s board recently released a children’s book featuring a story about Moraine State Park.
Cecilia Tomko turned the idea of the formation of Lake Arthur at Moraine State Park into a character named Morrie. In her new children's book, “Morrie the Vivaq,” Morrie shares the history of the state park with illustrations. “Vivaq” is Tomko’s invented word combining the Latin words for “living” and “water,” and this book may be the first in a series of Morrie adventure stories.
Along with her historical novel entitled “Sacred Stones: A Butler Book,” “Morrie the Vivaq” is available online on Amazon.com, and locally at Cummings Candy & Coffee, Playthings Etc. and the Little Green Bookstore.
